John C. Dallenbach,
Dr. Dallenbach, though born in Germany, spent much of his early childhood in Hanover, New Hampshire. He returned to Germany at the age of six and eventually graduated from the University of Heidelberg. Initially trained as an OB/GYN, Dr. Dallenbach started out as rural General Practitioner. He then moved to England, where he worked in Accident and Emergency Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, before finally beginning Pediatrics.
After moving back to the United States, Dr. Dallenbach completed his Pediatric Residency at the University of Tennessee, rising to the position of Chief Resident. He spent one year with the Indian Health Service in Montana, then moved to Pittsfield in 1997.
Once in Pittsfield, Dr. Dallenbach worked with Berkshire Physicians and Surgeons until 2000 when he started his own private practice, known today as East Elm Pediatrics. His children, Nina and Luke, are currently in college, and his wife, Helen, also works in the office as a lactation consultant.
Dr. Dallenbach likes to spend his free time outdoors, especially hiking and sailing. He also enjoys the piano, but regrettably doesn’t play as much as he would like.
